STUDY THE LANGUAGE USE OF YOUR AUDIENCE.
WATCH THE INTRODUCTION VIDEO OF STEP 3 FOR AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THIS STEP AND WHY THAT'S IMPORTANT. STUDYING THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR AUDIENCE IS THE SECOND PHASE OF THE DIALOGUE STUDY THAT YOU'VE STARTED IN STEP 1, AND IT IS ONCE AGAIN A VERY IMPORTANT STEP IN MAKING SURE THAT YOU AND YOUR PRESENTATION WILL CONNECT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE. People are different and so they use language in different ways. What language people use is not only determined by geography, but also by culture, values, character, beliefs and even by profession and the jargon that is connected to that profession. The more you know about the language of your audience, the better you will be able to create rapport and engage them. That increases their readiness to follow you in the direction you want to take them.
